Review
I never write reviews for books that I haven’t completed, but this is an exception. It is possible that I have read more banal writing sometime in the past, but I can’t remember when that was. If this had been my introduction to Jim Chee and Bernie Manuelito I would have never read another. Besides the utter banality of the dialogue, we are treated to the spectacle of Bernie assuming that 2 “shallow boxes of dirt” were being used for smuggling drugs. Really? How? Who would actually think that?
This is just awful, and it is insulting to the series that was (until near the end) so masterfully created by the author’s father.
Please: just stop. No more.
