Review

Things are back to normal in this episode, with Mr. J.L.B. Matekoni seemingly fully recovered from his serious bout of depression in Morality for Beautiful Girls. But money is still tight, and despite Grace Makutsi’s extra duties, her pay really can’t be increased by much. So she hits on the idea of creating a typing school for men which, unexpectedly, turns out to be quite successful. And it even affords Makutsi an opportunity for romance. But as always, the course of true love never did run straight, and so it is in this case.

Meanwhile, Mma Ramotswe handles two rather delicate cases with her customary tact and discretion, and even earns a sizable fee in the process. Thankfully, the author hints that one of the cases might not have turned out quite as well as Mma Ramotswe thought - the stories might have seemed just a bit too pat without that touch.
