Review
Battling corruption, corporate crime, sexual abuse, and depraved murder: excellent! This novel really begins to draw you in by about page 30, and never lets go. Both of the main characters, Mikael Blomkvist and Lisbeth Salander, are fascinating in their own way. Blomkvist is a very decent man, an investigative journalist with utter contempt for what the financial journalism industry has become (toadying to corporate power). As a result of which he has made many enemies among other journalists and the corporate elite. Lisbeth Salander is a very troubled young woman with a mysterious past, a genius IQ, and numerous tattoos and piercings. She is a worldclass hacker, making her very well suited to her job as a (more or less) freelance investigator for a security firm.
Well, I needn’t say more - this novel has been summarized and reviewed tens of thousands of times. I look forward to reading the other two novels in the series.
